Veteran trader Peter Brandt recently published a weekly chart comparison of XRP, Monero, and Solana. He judged each asset purely on classical price patterns and measured moves.
His verdict places XRP behind its peers, and the reasons show how chart structure separates strong setups from weak ones.
$XRP Excuse the rant I am about to unleash I believe in a concept called "measured moves" Targets or objectives are not sacred Charts often fail to deliver what we first identify and morph into something else I have identified a C&H in XRP On a larger time frame this C&H might… pic.twitter.com/o695MCEXHB — The Factor Report (@PeterLBrandt) October 6, 2026
How Brandt’s Chart Comparison Treats XRP
Brandt’s chart comparison is a price-only technical review of three assets on weekly charts. It sets fundamentals aside and relies on classical patterns and measured moves. His core message is simple: chart structures evolve, targets are not sacred, and relative strength varies widely across assets.
For XRP, Brandt identifies a cup-and-handle formation. That pattern is a rounded base followed by a small pullback, and traders often read it as a continuation signal.
On a larger timeframe, it may form the right shoulder of a broader inverted head-and-shoulders pattern. A measured move from an inverted head-and-shoulders, based on daily closes, gives an upside objective near $2.16. He qualifies that target right away, because the right shoulder looks poorly formed and abbreviated.

XRP also faces heavy overhead supply, which means layers of prior trading that create resistance. Brandt calls this congestion a clear technical negative. Price must absorb it before any sustained advance can begin. Until then, the $2.16 objective stays a conditional target rather than a forecast.
Why Does Brandt Prefer Monero and Solana Over XRP?
Brandt presents Monero’s chart as far more constructive. XMR has largely absorbed its previous overhead supply. He describes the path ahead as “clear sailing.”
The weekly structure shows progressively higher highs and a cleaner path after earlier consolidations. He names it his clear favorite among the group. He says he does not need any fundamental narrative attached to XMR.

Solana earns similarly favorable treatment. Brandt highlights a cup-and-handle pattern on a larger, more impressive scale than XRP’s. SOL’s weekly chart shows a broad rounded base under a well-defined horizontal resistance line.
That setup suggests a higher-quality continuation once the level resolves. Some congestion remains, but the structure looks cleaner and more decisive.

Brandt also briefly compares Ethereum and Stellar. ETH carries heavy congestion without XRP-type overhead supply, while XLM faces less resistance.
Throughout the post, he stresses a pure price-action approach: he trades charts, not stories. He asks XRP holders not to take the weaker chart personally, since patterns morph and measured moves can fail.
